UTG M3 Tri-Shot
This shotgun is great. It is made fully of polymer so there is vey little weight to it. There is a counter weight in the butt stock but it is just the right about. The pump action is very crisp and you have to get used to it because it is very tight. The pistol grip is comfortable and the length of the shotgun with the stock feels like your holding an m4 with the stock fully extended. There are two sling points to use, one built into the stock, which is ambidextrous, and one that is adjustable and removable. You can adjust the front sling mount to face left, right, or you can completely remove it. This allows the use from either hand making it completely ambidextrous. The magazine is a shell that holds thirty rounds and loads three at a time when you pump the hand guard. There are three separate barrels inside the outer barrel allowing each shot to be straight and on its own flight path. This gives a uniform shot and better accuracy. The shells are loaded into the breach like real steel and the door is closed. To eject the shell, you push on the lever located to the side of tee trigger guard. The shell will eject and all you have to do is insert a new shell and close the breach and pump the hand guard to re engage. This shotgun also allows for "rapid-fire" where you hold the trigger down and pump the hand guard. Every time you pump the hand guard it will chamber and shoot three rounds, so as fast as you can pump you can shoot. At $60.00 this is well worth it for CQB environments and if you can get close enough, field as well. The FPS is in the mid 300 FPS range with .25g ammo.
Pros:
light weight, 10 shots per shell(30 rounds total), comfort, price, separate inner barrels
Cons:
all plastic, pump action, one shell at a time
Overall:
Even though this is made from plastic, the material is pretty rigid and as long as you don’t throw it you’ll be fine. The loading of one shell at a time is another downfall that is counteracted by the "tri" shot capability and the separate inner barrels. I would rate this 8/10 only because of the time it takes to reload.
